Artists

The artists supply ideas and sketches for a work of art. The companies provide production facilities and expertise. Together they create works of art to be exhibited at one of the exhibition venues associated with Socle du Monde.

Christian Danielewitz

Danielewitz’ artistic practice examines and exposes terms like authorisation and authenticity in relation to the communication of current geopolitical situations. The conflict zones constituted by political, ethnical and cultural sources of friction play the leading part in these artistic investigations.
Danielewitz’ works often take shape as modified readymades or as appropriated and deconstructed images and texts from, inter alia, news media. 
 

Work for the Biennale

Co-operates with IT Relation A/S. For the Biennale, Danielewitz created a room for the temporary news station CNN – Congo News Network in collaboration with performance artist Christian Botale. The news station CNN – Congo News Network borrows a kind of authority through its appropriated acronym from CNN – Cable News Network. But Congo News Network’s intention is to appear as an experimenting alternative to the authorised news media in connection with the coverage of the complex geopolitical reality in DR Congo. Congo News Network “airs” with a performance at HEART on November 5th with Christian Botale as anchorman.
